Reason for Restriction

The United States is introducing the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA), which increases regulatory requirements on online services, especially those hosting or discussing topics that could be labelled as sensitive or potentially “harmful to minors.” Although the act is not yet fully enacted, the uncertainty and broad potential scope create legal risks for smaller independent sites.

In the United Kingdom, the Online Safety Act 2023 is already in force. It places strict obligations on site operators to moderate, filter, and verify age access for certain content types. Failure to comply can result in substantial financial penalties and liability.

Owner’s Decision

Given these legislative developments and the complexity of compliance frameworks in both regions, the site owner has chosen to block access entirely from the U.S. and U.K. rather than risk non-compliance or misinterpretation of content. This decision was made independently, without government request or intervention.

This restriction is permanent until further notice and applies to all users, without exception. There are no alternative access methods, appeals, or verification options available.

This measure is a proactive compliance and safety choice — not censorship. It ensures the platform remains secure, lawful, and aligned with the privacy and content standards under the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), GDPR, and Canadian Privacy Acts.
